Product Quickfind codes

A Quickfind code is a unique sequential number generated by Evance when a Product or Variant is created.

Your first Product will be assigned a Quickfind code of 1 , and each new Product or Variant will be assigned the next increment.

Quickfind vs SKU

We created Quickfind codes as an alternative to SKU codes, not a replacement. Whilst you have full control over SKUs, you cannot change a Quickfind code and deleted Products do not reset the code sequence.

Because Quickfind codes are a number, they can often be shorter and easier to reference than SKUs. However, Products aren't as easily identifiable by Quickfind as a well structured SKU format.

Quickfind in search

By default Evance's search engine supports Product lookup by both Quickfind and SKU. Therefore, it's a good idea to use structured SKU formats rather than numbers to avoid conflicts between the two Product referencing systems.

Quickfind in imports

Quickfind numbers may be used to update Products via CSV import. However, you cannot assign a new Quickfind code to a new Product.
